To mark India's National Day today, Hindu rights group, Hindraf and its political wing, the Human Rights Party delivered a memo to the country's Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh.

Chief clause of the memorandum is the request for the Indian government to provide full scholarships to 2,237 high-achieving Malaysian students of Indian descent who have been denied matriculation and university placings in their own country because of racial discrimination, according to the HRP and Hindraf statement.
