Even 23 years after being detained under the Internal Security Act in Malaysia's largest political crackdown, Operasi Lalang, the memories still live in Nasir Hashim's mind.
"When I got out people asked if I was okay, and I said I was fine...But much later when I was at a police station[...]an officer kicked the bars and it all came flooding back.
"I was taken through many doors blindfolded and my interrogators often banged the doors and when you cannot see anything, the noise takes over you," he said on the anniversary of Ops Lalang last night at the Chinese Assembly Hall.
