Serial sniper? Investigators probe potential links in Colorado shootings - TomoNews
WINDSOR, COLORADO — The FBI has joined the investigation of the murder of John Jacoby, 48, who was shot to death as he biked down a country road Monday morning.
Police are investigating a potential link between Jacoby’s murder and the shooting of motorist Cori Romero, 20, on the morning of April 22.
Jacoby had developmental disabilities and was well known and liked in his community. He was biking down Weld County Road 15 sometime on the morning of May 18.
Investigators say Jacoby was shot twice. They haven’t released information on the caliber of bullet or any other information.
On April 22, 20-year-old Cori Romero was traveling south on Interstate 25. She remembers seeing a black SUV. A bullet shattered the driver’s side window and struck Romero in the neck.
There have been a string of similar window shattering incidents along Interstate 25 and other roads, but in each of those cases no projectile was recovered.
