F. Chris Garcia is a former professor of political science at the University of New Mexico. He taught at UNM for over 40 years and is now a Distinguished Professor Emeritus and was a valued member of the academic staff during his time there. He held numerous administrative roles besides his teaching roles at the University. The peak of his administrative career with the University came in 2002, when he was a appointed the President of the University of New Mexico, a role that he held for one year.
