OAS: Colombia and Venezuela Must Resolve Issue Diplomatically

Colombia has been unable to garner sufficient votes in an OAS session in Washington to address the border issue with Venezuela. The organization concluded that the issue should be resolved diplomatically between the two nations. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has ordered the closure of border crossings with Colombia on the grounds that paramilitary forces have been operating in Venezuela, smuggling cheap food and gasoline into Colombia at a high profit, causing shortages inside Venezuela.
