While Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos requested a meeting of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) to address the border dispute between his country and Venezuela, FARC rebels called for dialogue to resolve the issues between the two countries and strengthen the peace process. Santos claimed that the rights of Colombians were not being respected when Venezuela deported people it claims were participating in illegal activities.
