Since Hurricane Katrina hit the city, seventy-one billion dollars in federal money has been spent, says filmmaker Laura Flanders. But has every opportunity been seized to bring back not just the place, but its people, so they’re stronger and healthier than before? Some strides forward have been made by community people working together to deal with issues of race, class and gender in the reconstruction of the city. teleSUR
