Guatemala: Supreme Court Paves Way for President's Impeachment

The Guatemalan Supreme Court approved a request from the Attorney General to open impeachment proceedings against President Otto Perez Molina. The embattled president is accused of involvement in a high-level multi-million dollar corruption scandal. The Supreme Court sent the case to congress, which will decide whether to strip the President of immunity from prosecution. Thus far, Perez Molina has refused all calls for his resignation. teleSUR
