The Quito, Ecuador Chamber of Commerce has come out in support of opposition demonstrations being held throughout the country. The business association is pessimistic on the Ecuadoran economy, particularly in light of a weakened dollar and falling oil prices. President Rafael Correa responded to the Chamber of Commerce, charging it with political opportunism and said proposed constitutional changes were unrelated to the current economic situation.
