Embroiled in a major corruption scandal, Guatemalan President Otto Perez Molina has refused to resign, sparking addition calls for his impeachment from labor, campesino, and university organizations and the Catholic Church. Many are calling for the elections, two weeks away, to be postponed, a demand also rejected by Perez, who expects to continue on as a deputy to the Central American Parliament, enjoying impunity for six more years.
