A spokesman for the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) acknowledged on Monday that one of its units was responsible for slaying a rural community leader earlier this month and vowed to take measures against those who were involved. The admission came during the ongoing peace talks in Havana with the Colombian government. “Such abhorrent acts cannot be repeated by FARC units,” said FARC leader Pablo Capatumbo. “We promise to punish this act and adopt the corresponding measures to avoid a repetition.” teleSUR
