Curtea de Argeș is a city in Romania on the right bank of the Argeş River, where it flows through a valley of the lower Carpathians (the Făgăraş Mountains), on the railway from Pitești to the Turnu Roşu Pass. It is part of Argeș County.

The Transfăgărășan is a mountain paved road crossing the southern section of the Carpathian Mountains. It has national-road ranking and it is the second-highest paved road in Romania after Transalpina.

Aiud is a city located in Alba county, Transylvania, Romania. It has the status of municipality and is the second-largest city in the county, after county seat Alba Iulia. The city derives its name ultimately from St. Giles (Aegidius), to whom the first church in the settlement was dedicated when built.

Baia Mare is a municipality along the Săsar River, in NW Romania; it is the capital of Maramureș County, at about 600 kilometres from Bucharest, 70 km from the border with Hungary, and 50 km from the border with Ukraine. Located south of Igniș and Gutâi Mountains, Baia Mare administers four villages: Blidari, Firiza, Valea Borcutului and Valea Neagră.
