A 63-year-old British tourist is lucky to be alive after being lost for two days without food in the remote north of Queensland, Australia. His SOS, written in large letters on a riverbank, clued rescue crews into his whereabouts.

What would you do if you get stranded in a remote area?
A man scrawled an SOS to the world. And someone got it. 

British tourist Geoff Keys was stranded in northern Queensland, Australia after a shortcut didn't pan out quite as expected. 

Keys set out in search of an isolated waterfall while camping and tried to cut through the bush to get back.
