Malay rights NGO Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali's threat that "anything can happen on that day" if Bersih 2.0 proceeds with its July 9 rally is "irresponsible and racist".
Saying this, Malaysian Bar Council president Lim Chee Wee has urged the government to use the Sedition Act against Ibrahim if the authorities think that the Act is still relevant.
"We (the Bar Council) are against the Sedition Act, but if the government had used the Act against Karpal Singh for his statement on Perak issue (constitutional crisis), I don't see why (the government) should not do so on Ibrahim's remarks.
