In its ongoing battle against speculative vulture funds, the Argentine government won an important victory in the NY Court of Appeals, which overturned a ruling by Judge Thomas Griesa, who is in charge of the case. Griesa had allowed holdout creditors to sue Argentina as a group and be added to his 2012 ruling on vulture funds. The Court of Appeals decision saves Argentina US$5.4 billion.
