Turkey heading towards new elections after coalition talks fail

Early elections for Turkey as President Erodgan favours forming an interim government of his own before the vote: Reportedly speaking to an academic audience, it appears to be his response to the AK party’s failure to find a coalition partner.

“Unfortunately, Turkey has not formed a new government yet. In this regard, we again need ask the will of the people to find the solution, (referring to elections). I am conducting this process according to the constitution and I will continue to do so,” said Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Erdogan will consult with the parliamentary speaker, as the outgoing prime minister of the party Erdogan founded has failed to find anyone he can agree with.

Neither the CHP nor the MHP can bring themselves to work with the present government. Erodgan sees the autumn as the earliest possible date for a snap poll.
