Montevideo is hosting the year’s first plenary session of the Mercosur Parliament, Parlasur, from August 16-18. The issues on the table include a Venezuelan peace proposal with Guyana over the long disputed Essequibo region, as well as anti-government violence in Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina and Venezuela.
