Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Maximus Ongkili today defended Putrajaya's decision to award a power plant project to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), stating that it was done via competitive bidding.
He says the the other short listed bidder, YTL Power International Bhd, had failed to fulfil requirements that the technology used for the project must be tried and tested.
