Video footage shows massive explosion in Tianjin, China

Video footage shows the moment a fireball ripped through the night sky in China.

The massive explosion erupted in an industrial area in the northeastern city of Tianjin.

State TV said the blast erupted in a shipment of explosives around 11.30pm local time. The State news agency reported that the fire was under control, but two firefighters were reported missing.

The blast wave could be felt several kilometres away and injured at least 50 people according to local media.

The cause of the explosion is not yet clear.
