The North and the Centre of Portugal suffer forest fires. Several homes were threatened. The wildfire is now under control Nearly 80 per cent of the country’s territory is considered to be in a severe drought, a situation that is likely to get worse in August, according to the Portuguese meteorological agency IPMA. Wildfires have destroyed in the last ten days more than 9.000 hectares of forest.
