500g pork spare ribs (1.1lb)
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp minced shallot (or white part of spring onion)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp seasoning powder (eg. Knorr - this is optional)
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup water (or coconut water)
