Several international resolutions seek a solution to the crisis in Syria. Iran has made a proposal that calls for an immediate ceasefire, the establishment of a government of national unity, an amendment to the Syrian Constitution and the holding of elections under the observation of international observers. Iran also supports Russia’s call to abandon double standards in order to effectively combat ISIS terrorists and to consider Syrian President Bashar al-Asad as a partner in the endeavor.
