As the UK and parts of Europe swelter in a mini heatwave, a huge thermometer could prove very useful.
This one was fitted to a 165 metre industrial chimney in the Puxi Expo Park by the Huangpu River in Shanghai this week.
The fully-functioning digital installation is thought to be a contender for the tallest thermometer and weather signal tower in the world.
