While camping on the Mogollon Rim over the Independence Day weekend we saw lightning strike within a mile of our camp. The next day we went hiking and actually saw the tree burning. After calling the forest service fire fighters we hiked down to the tree and decided to hang around until the fire fighters got there. Right after the first fire fighter got there the tree started to crack and pop and we managed to capture it falling on video.
