The government has revealed that repairing all the outdated water pipes in the country, which are contributing to the high level of non-revenue water, would cost a staggering RM11 billion and is "too big to be borne by development budgets."
In a written answer to Nga Kor Ming, (DAP-Taiping), the Energy, Green Technology, and Water Ministry said that only RM 975 million was allocated for such repair works in the 10th Malaysia Plan, which ends next year.
