Beki Hellens, 22, who was experienced at the sport, lost her life doing something she loved, her grieving family said.
The accident happened at the South Lake Ski School in Cambridgeshire where she was a regular visitor.
She was taken from the water after the crash on July 26 but died a few hours later. Police said that she was reported to have suffered a cardiac arrest.
Tributes have flooded in for Miss Hellens on Facebook, with her partner Paul Turner describing her as his 'one true love' on the social media site.
He wrote: 'My beautiful, amazing girlfriend, partner and one true love Beki died at 11am on Sunday 26th July 2015.
'Wonderful daughter to Belinda and Richard, sister of Daniel, who she loved so much.
