Rival parties to decide whether to hold meeting over NIS hacking allegations

Korea's rival parties are set to decide whether to go ahead with a planned meeting on Thursday to look into allegations the spy agency illegally wiretapped citizens.
Lawmakers from the intelligence committees of the ruling Saenuri Party and main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy are currently holding discussions at the National Assembly on the matter.
The main stumbling block is over the release of log files from the malware that was supposedly used to snoop on citizens.
The main opposition party says it will only come to Thursday's meeting if the National Intelligence Service releases the logs by the end of today,... saying it would be pointless holding the meeting otherwise.
The ruling party agrees with the NIS' assessment that the log files should not be released for reasons of national security.
