USA: Gun Control Advocates Call for Action against ‘Bad Apple’ Dealers

The battle over gun control continues as organizations and some members of Congress seek definitive practices that will lead to long-term solutions for gun violence. At a Thursday press conference, the Brady Campaign and some Democratic lawmakers urged the Department of Justice and the Bureau or Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to take action against so-called “bad apple” arms dealers. The majority of gun crimes in the U.S. can be traced to 5% of gun dealers. These are the ones that should comply with certain regulations or close their doors, say the gun control advocates.
