While Ecuador's opposition continues to call street protests against two proposed progressive tax measures, President Rafael Correa's initiative for a national debate on the proposals as well as on social equality and wealth distribution is moving forward. New forces are joining and broadening the dialogue, such as Afro-Ecuadorans, the country's poorest sector.
