Online retailer Amazon has joined the UK streaming market with the launch of Prime Music.
The new service is available to Prime customers as part of their annual 79 pound (111 euro)subscription.
Over a million songs will be available with around 500 specially created playlists.
Streaming has become more competitive lately with the likes of Spotify, Deezer, Google Play, Apple Music and Jay-Z’s Tidal all vying for business.
Some artists’ music will be absent from the Amazon catalogue at first, including Amy Winehouse, Abba and Kanye West. They are all with Universal, which is involved in a dispute over royalties.
Apple and Spotify both claim to have around 30 million tracks.
