Drinks Made Easy Presents- How to make A Whiskey Sour. The Whiskey Sour is a rather popular drink and is a special favorite of our bartender and host Paul Masterson. The earliest written reference to the Whiskey Sour is in Jerry Thomas' cocktail book, published in 1862, called the Bartender's Guide.
To make this drink you will need the following:
1 3/4 oz Bourbon (we used Fighting Cock Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey)
3/4 oz Simple Syrup
3/4 oz Lemon Juice
3/4 oz Egg Whites
1 Dash of Angostura Bitters
Two metal Shaker Tins
A Sour Glass or any glass that holds 6-8 oz.
First, add your 1 3/4 oz bourbon, 3/4 oz simple syrup, and 3/4 oz Lemon juice in one of your shaker tins. Next, add your 3/4 oz egg whites and ice in the other shaker tin. Pour your bourbon, simple syrup, and lemon juice into the tin with your egg whites and ice. Close both tins together and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds. When done shaking, pour your mixture into your sour glass (or 6-8 oz glass), add your dash
