A huge bronze figure with the head of a goat and body of a man was unveiled at a festive private ceremony in Detroit over the weekend. The figure, a statue of the occult idol Baphomet, also drew protests from local religious groups.
A nearly nine-foot tall bronze statue weighing one ton was unveiled to celebration and protest in Detroit over the weekend.
The statue depicts the occult idol Baphomet. It has a goat’s head, a human body and a large pair of wings. On either side, a small boy and girl stare up at the imposing figure with reverence and awe.
Around 700 attended the ticket-only unveiling ceremony.
Many Detroit residents, however, were none too pleased.
