Honduras: Torchlight Marches Highlight Corruption and Social Abuses

2015-07-25 1

In a weekly torchlight march held in Tegucigalpa on Friday, protesters repeated their call for the resignation of Honduras President Juan Hernandez and the establishment of an anti-impunity commission similar to the one that exists in Guatemala. Activists believe that such a commission would be a way to expose and diminish corruption and abuses linked to militarization. They see the torchlight marches that have been held for several months as an expression of widespread public outrage against intolerable social abuses in the country. teleSUR
