Raees is an action-thriller film directed by Rahul Dholakia and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Gauri Khan under the banners of Excel Entertainment and Red Chillies Entertainment.The film stars Shah Rukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. Mahira Khan plays the lead female role. This marks the Bollywood debut of the humsafar actress Mahira Khan.Set in 1980s Gujarat, the film tells the story of a bootlegger whose business is thwarted by a tough policeman.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who has mostly stayed clean shaven on the silver screen with a few exceptions, will probably be seen sporting a beard in his upcoming film ‘Raees’, in which he plays a bootlegger from Gujarat.
‘Raees’ revolves around Khan’s character, a bootlegger, who supplies booze in Prohibition-era Gujarat during the 80s and the situations that arise when a cop, played by Nawazuddin, wages war on Khan’s criminal enterprise.
