Former Guatemalan dictator EfrainRios Montt has been ordered to undergo nine days of tests in a psychiatric hospital, postponing the initiation of a new genocide trial scheduled for Thursday July 23. He will remain in the hospital until August 3, when a decision will be made regarding his ability to stand trial. On May 10, 2013, Ríos Montt was convicted of genocide and crimes against humanity, and sentenced to 80 years imprisonment. On May 20, 2013, the Constitutional Court of Guatemala overturned the conviction, due to alleged procedural errors. teleSUR
