The Colombian Congress held a plenary session yesterday to discuss the progress achieved in the peace talks underway in Havana, Cuba. Following a speech by chief government negotiator Humberto de la Calle, right-wing senator and fierce opponent of the peace process Alvaro Uribe softened his stance, and acknowledged that he was feeling some sort of relief at the news of progress in the discussions.
