Later today former Guatemalan dictator Efrain Rios Montt will be retried for the crime of genocide. The former general, whose 2013 conviction for genocide committed in the 1980s had been overturned, had been declared mentally unfit to stand trial. Earlier this week Montt's daughter, Zury Rios, was given the go-ahead to run for president despite a law barring family members of former dictators from running for the nation's highest office. teleSUR
