Spanish authorities on Thursday transferred to Madrid a man arrested earlier in the week on suspicion of recruiting and “sending children and adolescents to Syria and Iraq” to join the ranks of Islamic State, Spain’s interior ministry said. The 29-year-old man, who was not immediately named, was described by police as a Spanish national of Arab origin. This video shows his transfer from Melilla to Madrid, from aircraft to motorcade.
He was accused of using tapes of radical sermons and various multimedia to convince women to adopt Sharia law. In addition, police said the man used a picture of his younger son, dressed in IS garb and holding a machete, as a recruiting tool. Two weeks earlier, Spanish authorities arrested a woman in the Canary Islands, accusing her of similar activities. Credit: Twitter/Interior Ministry of Spain
