US-Cuba Normalization: Citizen Support and Government Obstacles

A recent AP poll shows that three out of four U.S. citizens favor diplomatic relations with Cuba. Yet there are a number of obstacles to full normalization, mainly the lifting of the economic blockade, the return of the Guantanamo Naval Base to Cuba and the elimination of the “regime-change” agenda as codified into law in 1996 by the Helms-Burton Ac.
