After 54 years the United States and Cuba will officially reopen their respective embassies today. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez is in Washington for the ceremony. However pending issues remain unresolved, complicating a full normalization of relations, among them the U.S. occupation of the area housing the Guantanamo Naval Base and the economic blockade.
