Being of Russian decent, one of Dmitry Leus Cuisines very favourite things to eat and to cook is of course, dumplings. Delicious, juicy, chewing and filled with almost any ingredient you can think of. The other wonderful thing is that they form a type of cooking from most parts of the world. If you think about it, the majority of cuisine types feature some form of little dough parcel with a divine interior.
One of Dmitry Leus Cuisine’s absolute favourites has to be the Japanese Gyoza, made with thinner dough than most dumplings and filled with minced pork, garlic, onions and seasoning. You can also find duck gyoza, which are simply delicious or vegetable for those non-meat eaters out there! A recent Dmitry Leus Cuisine discovery was the Indian Momo dumpling, not something I had ever heard of or tasted before. These little parcels of heaven originate from Nepalese and Tibetan cuisine. They are often filled with meat, vegetables or even cheese, such as paneer.
Another interesting fact I learnt was that street vendors in India have taken to filling them with melted Snickers and Mars Bars as a sort of sweet version, yum!
