Being a musician from Ankara Turkey, Kutad ALPTURKAN started his professional musical life and career in university years. During these years, besides from his contribution to several live and recording projects, he founded and contributed with two major bands.
The most popular one was the "Yağmur Öncesi" project where the aim was to search for the universal musical sounds standing mainly on the Anatolian songs, riffs and instrumental structure. The band recorded two albums and performed many concerts all through the country.
The other band named "Turkish Folklore Experimental Music Group" tracked the parallelism between the folkloric music and the various forms of the world music and jazz. The group performed in the major jazz festivals of the country.
Being influenced from both the local and folkloric musical themes, jazz and the various universal musical forms, Kutad ALPTURKAN continued writing and performing his own music through the years.
On the 10th of February 2015 he published his first solo album named "OYUNCAK" (The TOY) that consists of 12 songs all written, composed and performed by himself. Many famous musicians of Turkey contributed to the recordings and the revenue of the project is donated for the care and treatment of the animals in need.
