In the capital city of Brasilia, the Mercosur "People's Summit" is underway in Brasilia and will last through Thursday. Over 400 delegates from social organizations of the regional trade bloc's member countries are participating in the event under the slogan "Moving toward a Mercosur with more integration, more rights, and more participation." Former Uruguayan President Pepe Mujica is expected to speak at the Summit. Mercosur is made up of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Venezuela, with Bolivia and Ecuador as associate members. teleSUR
