At least 35 people are believed to have been killed in fighting near the Yemeni city of Aden and ten more in airstrikes on the capital Sanaa.

The deaths occured despite a temporary humanitarian truce brokered by the United Nations which was supposed to have begun on Saturday.

A coalition of Arab states has been bombarding Houthi rebels since March in a bid to reinstate President Abd- Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Meanwhile a mass funeral has taken place in Yemen’s Hadramount province for 53 soldiers killed by friendly fire,

They died on Wednesday when the Saudi-led Arab coalition bombed a military base packed with troops loyal to Yemen’s president who had fled to Riyadh..
