Rita’s, a popular purveyor of frozen treats, has announced that due to the egg shortage, they’re taking custard off of the menu.

The U.S. is in the grips of the worst avian-flu outbreak in its history, and millions of egg-producing hens have already been lost in connection with the pandemic.

Rita’s, a popular purveyor of frozen treats, has announced that due to the resulting egg shortage, they’re taking custard off their menu.

The decision affects all of their over 600 locations.
For the time being, soft-serve ice cream will take the frozen custard’s place.
