Britain's Prince William and his wife Kate emerged briefly from a London hospital on Saturday to give the world the first glimpse of their newborn princess. Standing on the steps of the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William waved to the crowds who had gathered outside the hospital throughout the day.
The baby was born Saturday morning and weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces, officials said. The new born is fourth in line to the throne, behind his or her grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William and brother Prince George.
