In northern Kenya, al Shabaab militants attack quarry workers in their sleep, killing at least 14 people. Also, attacks continue in northern Nigeria, where at least 26 people are killed after a bomb struck government buildings and three gunmen opened fire. A separate attack saw a suicide bomber strike a military checkpoint. And in Burundi, the ruling party has won the parliamentary elections, taking 77 of the 100 seats in the assembly.
