Chief Colombian government peace negotiator Humberto de la Calle blamed the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) for the escalation of tensions, which he said could put the peace talks in jeopardy. The FARC, meanwhile, reiterated its call for a bilateral ceasefire, which the government, in a reversal from its past position, suggested it might accept.
