Ecuador's right wing continues to protest President Rafael Correa’s proposals to tax large inheritances and property speculation. The Mayor of Guayaquil, Jaime Nebot, funded a massive media campaign to mobilize protests in the interests of the country’s oligarchy. In Quito the opposition protests turned violent, while members of the Citizens’ Revolution showed their support for the proposals aimed at reducing social inequality. Over 85% of the population voted Correa into office and support the progressive changes he has made. teleSUR
