Cooking next to a Himalayan stream, at our Jallandhri campsite!

2015-06-26 6

A porter prepares the camp fire to get some tea on the boil, while others get busy with unpacking utensils and food-stuff. Yet others get the tents pitched for the night halt next to the roaring Jallandhri Garh torrent above Harsil in Garhwal, Uttarakhand Himalaya, India.

The porters then relax and sit around as (now banned) Maggi noodles come to a boil in the pressure cooker. The deodar trees above are stately and make for a lovely shaded campsite, even as the torrent flows close at hand.
